Risk

“What would you do if you weren’t afraid?”

What would life look like if we always colored inside the lines?

Life = risk and sometimes risk can be an awesome thing to take, because you discover things, places, moments, people you would never have encountered if you stayed safely within the boundaries of life as you know it.

“Let’s do it!” is what we have to tell ourselves sometimes without thinking about the “what ifs” of the situation or the decision. Like crossing one of the busiest intersections in the most densely populated city in the world to find a rickshaw puller brave enough to take three people to a destination they are not even sure about themselves. Balancing on the seat not big enough to take two people, let alone three. And then the moment that changes the entire dynamic: an unexpected downpour that leaves you soaked to the bone (despite the two umbrellas you use to try and protect you from the water!)

And in that moment, you see the beauty of life around you: you feel the wind on your face, the water that pours down your back, you hear the sound of bicycle bells telling the world you are on your way and then you hear the silence – as if the moment is captured in slow motion.

Taking a risk has the potential to leave you disillusioned, disappointed and scared. However, it also has the potential to leave you feeling alive, blessed and complete. Discovering new thing about yourself, the world around you and those who share this world with you. And that is when risk is worth taking!

“Let’s do it! Let’s leave fear behind, take the risk and color outside the lines!” Who knows what awaits us!
